Our December production is the well known and much loved 'A Christmas Carol'.......
.....but hang-on a minute !
This new version by our very own 'Magnolia Thunderpussy' presents amazing new revelations hitherto closetted from the general public. Whilst clearly based on the original idea by C. Dickens this fearless expose of Christmas as it was, is and ever shall be is being compiled with such extraordinary secrecy that, rumours suggest, having obtained their script and then learned their lines the players are obliged to eat it.
Reportedly, the central character, one 'Ebenezer Scrooge', is a sour money-lender of frugal disposition, owner of a large deposit at Barclays.
Apparently there are ghosts involved. One, called 'Marley' was big in the charts for several weeks with 'Buffalo Solider'. Another, a Scot, Rory McGrory of the McGrorys is, or rather was, a plumber, and there's also a bloke from Outer Space. (It remains unclear whether 'The Other Side' and 'Outer Space' are expressions for the same place.)
Whilst sounds of 'Good King Wenceslas' have been heard, well, there are reasons to be concerned at the fate of any carol singers. Indeed, this writer wonders whether 'not for those of a nervous disposition' should be included on any mail-outs.
